Will you miss the Perfect Song?

Some randoms musings as I wait for the grill to fire up...

Many of you are much more prolific and committed collectors of music than I so perhaps this doesn't apply. However with all the good music that has been made over the rock era--everything from the #1 bands even school children know to the garage band that home recorded 2 songs on a tape and are the very definition of the word "obscure" do you sometimes feel that you may miss the song that literally rocks your world? A song that goes right to the top of your list and you think, "boy where was I when that song was being made?" A song you find yourself singing or humming for weeks after you first hear it? It seems that just around the corner the next artist or band your hear may have that song. The question is will you be in the right place and time to hear it?

Fairly mindless musings I know--perhaps the beginning of my midlife crisis. Oh well--have a happy Labor day everyone.

nah, that's not too mindless...[:)]

and nah, I try not to worry that I have missed or will miss the "perfect song". I'd drive myself crazy with shoulda, coulda, woulda. There are so many great songs out there----songs that are perfect to someone else--it's too subjective to try to rope 'em all in. I love my favourite perfect songs that I know, but I'm always up for hearing more, should I come across something by chance.

I missed Senona Dancing's "More To Lose" song the first time around, and hummed it for weeks... it kinda a sad song, so I'm sappy over it. I also got really engauged with listen to "Nova Heart" by Spoons b/c I had not heard the song in over 20 years... and the extended versions I like the best of these two songs, whereas, many times extended version blow compaired to the original version. Must be that mid-life crisis...
