I for one shop there. I don't NEED to , but why should I buy the same products elsewhere when they're so much cheaper at Wal Mart ? What , to prove a point or something ? I don't think so.

There is no wall mart in Brooklyn. I don't think there will be because of lack of space. But I would shop there.

I bitch & complain about Wal-Mart a lot, but I have to admit that i shop there a couple of times a year. I can't justify spending a lot on items like Christmas Lights, that are only going to last a couple of years - so you know where to find me in late November.

I also like their grocery prices...I wonder if it's all made in China? [;)]

I know for much of my family, out in the rural areas, Wal-Mart is the only option. I appreciate that about them, don't really like it, but know people would have to travel much further for crap if Wal-Mart wasn't around.

Two or three years ago, a Wal Mart opened up about a mile from my house. I shop there only a couple of times a year.
Hmmm, what have I bought....camping items, garden plants, and fishing tackle. Gotta say those prices are pretty good.
Groceries? I'd rather shop at my local grocery store.

Reasons I shop at Wal mart:

1. Great punchups. Especially around Christmas time when a skidload of the seasons hottest toy is wheeled out to the waiting mob.

2. Peoplewatching. No other store I know of can match Wal mart for "interesting" shoppers. I'm sure this is a universal trait of the chain.

3. The "Greeters". You know, the totally disinterested person standing at the entrance who half heartedly greets you, all the while sizing you up for your propensity to shoplift. Nothing says "welcome" like a glazed stare, and unintelligible grunt.

I've never set foot in one and never will. It's worth spending whatever extra money it costs to avoid that shit hole. I'm sure I could appreciate the entertainment value that eight6 pointed out if it weren't for fact that in this area, one needn't go anywhere near a Wal-Mart to see the human waste. They're everywhere. [:(][:(!]

I only go if I absolutely have to, which is rare. The Walmart in my area is insanely crowded, very poorly arranged, and generally disorganized and chaotic. A typical experience I've had there is akin to being in more-narrow-aisled version of Costco the day before a major holiday or, nearly worse, trying to deal with the parking lots at either of our local Trader Joe's (which emit some sort of vibe that turns all of their cars' drivers into complete nutcases).

Mrs DG, who has been to Walmarts in other parts of the country when visiting relatives, says that the other ones are much nicer than what we have here.

I can count on one hand the times I've been to Wal-Mart and it's not for anything different than why the above posters say they don't go there. I hear their parking lots are pretty sleazy too.

I refuse to step foot in one. Not because I feel I need to "prove a point" but because I refuse to be a hypocrite to my political/patriotic beliefs. I do not shop there because I refuse to give them even one of my red cents for their profit. I know it doesn't make a difference, but I sleep better at night knowing I am not supporting them in any way.

But Target is another story.....

I'm a Target person. Better merchandise, cleaner stores, and I swear they turn away ugly women at the door, since I've only seen hotties there.

Someimtes(SOMETIMES) I go to Wal Mart. To me, it's not so much Wal Mart, but a NASCAR merchandise distribution center.

Meanwhile, K-marts having a closeout sale will have tons of teen single moms there in what looks like the set of Escape From New York.

You need to head out to the SW 'burbs. That must be where they send them.

And if anyone wants a textbook definition of scary, go to a Wal-Mart in Missouri on a hot Saturday.

I do most of my shopping at Target. We're slowly going broke because one was just built about a mile from my house [:D]

The last time I went to a WM, I barely got in the doors when a fistfight broke out right in front of me. I got the hell out of the way, but you should have seen the trailer trash that gathered around. I'm sure it was nothing new to them, but it freaked me out.

well un fortantely i live in oklahoma city and cant imagine what its like to live somewhere that doesnt have a big wal mart close by, and i work there so yeah i shop there.
and the place has made me a very unhappy person.

Where do they find these people that shop at Wallmart? A very odd and disturbing venture it is. Indeed. I Love Target though, what with it's wide isles and great staff. [;)]
