WinAmp v2.80 does the job for me.

I'm generally 10 years behind the times when it comes to innovation. (My fastest computer at home is a P450 mHz)

If I don't know what I'm missing, am I really missing it?

iTunes = bloat, bloat, sink ...

I use WinAmp 2, although you have to get a lot of plug-ins yourself, but at least I don't end up with load of crap that I never use.

It really depends what you want the software to do. If you want something to organize your library and stuff like that, sure, use iTunes, but if you just want to play music, get something simple, like WinAmp (lite version) or Foobar2000 (assuming you're running Windows).

I use Musicmatch. I found an older version (8 I think) and just deselected the check for updates box. I tried B&O's player for a while, but it seemed to be a bit much for my needs.

I did that once when I first opened iTunes on my computer... their is an importing function under the "?" menu and then you select the folder holding all your tunes and "import" them all to your playlist area... I remember it's not that intuative...

Also I cannot double check, as my computer crashed 5 weeks ago...

I used iTunes for about a week and then deleted it....I even gave my iPod to my daughter because of iTunes. Not user friendly at all. Media Monkey handles the iPod and suits my needs very well thank you.

I use MusicMatch 8 to tag and sort my files, but have to use lemmingTunes to load to my lemmingPod. I much prefer the file structure of MM8 to that of lemmingTunes.

I'm forced to use Winders Media Player at work if I want to listen to something through the PC, and while I don't hate it, I wouldn't make it my player of choice.

Philly - open itunes
Click on "music"
then open whichever folder you keep your music in
go up & click on edit - hit "select all"
drag them on to the itunes window.
