Pica poles, wax machines, X-Acto knieves, benziene (sp?) -- oh the humanity... [8]

I love Quark! [:D]

But that's probably because I've been using it for about 13 years now. InDesign and Illustrator make me tear out my hair.

I miss the days of pica poles and wax machines. And stinky darkrooms. I once stabbed my editor at the time with an X-acto knife. It was a horrible accident--and I laughed and laughed and laughed because I'm one of those people who laugh at the most inopportune moments. Good times. [:)]

so do I. I redo whatever I can in InDesign or Illustrator.

I only hate Quark because you really can't lock anything. It still gets selected even though it's locked, and you have to select through it.

Also, it's a pain making a pdf from QXP.

You really do share my pain!
The best way to make a pdf out of quark is to use the print dialog (go friggin figure) but I usually open it up in acrobat to make sure it didn't get all jacked up.

I actually haven't used Quark in a good fifteen years. I have more of a niche in logo design so Illustator and Photoshop more than serve my needs. Lately I've been doing alot of garment illustration. If I ever do need to do some sort of page layout, I just do it in Illustrator. Strict Illustrator purist here [}:)] [8D]
