Best Laid Plans For T-Day

Well it's that time of year again, well at least in the States, for Turkey, Ham, Yams, Cranberries, et al.

The best laid plans go to waste, my family, urgh, are all going to feast alone this T-Day... what is their problem? I like it when everyone gets together to break bread and feast upon the giant turkey, big ham, and small goose (yep, goose--it's all about being German at an American Holiday!), with all the fixings and side dishes.

So I hope all your friends and family will be together this holiday season at T-Day, I mean who else would get up with you to go to the mall/stores at 3 a.m. to line up for a 4 a.m. opening time?!

All of our family members are too far away, so it's just going to be the kids, me and the Mr., and the Mr's best friend. I'm going to do a traditional turkey/dressing/etc. meal for the kids and the adults are going to feast on a brisket and drinks lots of red wine.

There is no brad in my life to break, Glok [;)] And that's unfortunate, because after a few days of being stuck with these people, I'm going to need to hurt someone.

I'm sure I've come across a couple of Brads that I wanted to break, but not this year.

My family lives too far away to spend any holidays together. I'll be cooking for 3 this year - me, the partner & the dog. It's ok though, I'm pretty excited about it - a good holiday at home, just hanging out.

I really hope there isn't a Top Model Marathon on...that's going to royally screw up my schedule.

The Mr. & I drive 6 hrs. to Tucson every year to his parents. Just the 4 of us. It's nice, and the meal is delicious. He gets his fix of mom's cooking 1x a year. I've never lived close enough to any other family to have a "big" T-Day. It was the same growing up--TDay was always just my parents & bro & I.

Even though I live in America, I already had my Canadian Thanksgiving. I do have to go to 2 dinners on Thursday, both family and down the street from each other, and I wish I could just stay home and relax.....oh well, at least it's not a workday like last year for me.

37 for dinner ? That must be one hell of a long dinner table. So your going to Connecticut . You should drop by the Blir's. Just look for the house with the New England Patriots banner. [:D]

I have 8 brothers and sisters, 19 neices and nephews plus 1 neice in law? and 8 in-out laws. Plus my Dad (1st major holiday without my Mom[:(]) and my sisters really dumb dog, it likes to lick the kitchen floor!

My brothers and brother in laws are all Jet fans, I don't think it would be a good idea to mix Jet and Patriot fans!

I've been to huge family dinners with over 30 people. I'm not really a fan of it - too crowded, loud & I don't like being crowded in. I spent A LOT of time outside smoking.
