Hello everyone! I am Corey, I am 20 and I was looking around for some good forums and this looks like the place to be! I've been playing in a new wave influenced band for about 6 months now (I used to play death metal but I hated it so much, it was so boring) and I was wondering if you guys would like to check it out and give some constructive criticism.

Like I said, I am sorry if I put this in the wrong spot or if this is not allowed, I looked around on the FAQ and didn't see anything against it but I know what a hassle it can be trying to read a forum and getting blasted by band promos, I just thought fans of NW would probably enjoy our music the most out of people.

I like all three songs. I think Dogs Can't Buy Ice cream is the tightest song.

I REALLY love the first 30 seconds of Plea to Dance - I like the hard beat with the synth line & I think it should be throughout the song. I would have totally been into it back in my club days. I was suprised it didn't come back into the song at some point. The chorus is pretty hooky too. I didn't care much for the ending.
By no means am I saying the track sucks - that beginning is great & the song has that great combination of danceability & darkness that I absolutely love.

OK ... I thought the name Unawarewolf was interesting enough so I checked you out. To be completely honest, I kind of liked the first song even though I hated the title. The second song didn't do much for me and by the third song, the whole thing was getting kinda old and I gave up halfway through it. I just got the feeling you're trying too hard to be different at the expense of the songs and although I thought it was cool at first, it didn't hold my interest for long. I also think you could use some work lyrically but then again, I'm kind of sensitive to what I consider to be bad lyrics ...

Yeah I understand that we bring alot of different influences into our songs, somehow we ended up with a slightly tech ending on Plea To Danse, its just kinda played out that way. I really like the suggestion about bringing the intro piece back into play.

Haha, yeah out titles are pretty silly, but we are just keeping it fun.

We finally decided to play what we wanted to play, all of us were previously in heavy bands and it was just so boring for us, its a stale scene here in Austin. Nothing but alot of meatheads in black shirts strutting like chickens. This is the first time we've really tried playing something different and something thats fun for us and we are still learning as a group so thank you guys so much for the input.

The second track was the best followed by the third then the first bringing up the rear. Not bad, stay with it.

I think the background gave me a seizure!

"It's Raining Humans" is the best one here, IMSO, so I'm just going to offer some suggestions on that. Try to work on the arrangement for the part between :27-:40. I don't feel it does justice to the fine opening hook. And try to come up with better lyrical hooks and better song titles. Different is good -- unless it's too different. And stuff like "Dogs Can't Buy Ice Cream" is in the latter camp. (Yeah, I know. Fall Out Boy has sold millions. But nobody's ever going to accuse them of having good song titles. Or having lyrical hooks, for that matter.) Nothing wrong with "Academy of Humans."
