Some maniac a few streets over has barricaded himself in his house with a bunch of weapons and now my neighborhood (which was, until 6 months ago, a nice, quiet little neighborhood) is under lock down. My daughters are being kept at their school and I can't leave to go get them. Mr. BMG is leaving work to get them, but then he won't be able to come home.

According to the news, the guy started firing shots at his brother because he's "having a bad day."

I HATE STUPID PEOPLE.

What an absolute nightmare, BMG. You have my hopes for a quick and expeditious ending to this unnerving situation. I would be both furious and upset. Not cool. I f*cking hate stupid people too, now even more [:(!]

Lived through that about 20 years ago. It's best the kids stay away. You never know what those freaks are going to do. Ditto to the stupid people.

Situation resolved peacefully, thank goodness.

I really am just some little naive girl from the middle of cow country. Stuff like this freaks me out.

When I was in college I experienced that myself when the cops thought Patty Hearst was being held a few doors up the street. I went outside to go to school and was ordered back inside at gunpoint.
