I think I might help myself to one of these...3lbs.!!! Shit, that's less than half the weight of what I carry around all the time now, and you can't beat the price.

I bet the thing is wicked fast with the $1000 64gb flash drive option.
I thought two iPhone updates were pretty cool too:
- movie rentals directly to your iPhone
- instantaneous mapping info via cellular triangulation rather than GPS

I give Apple two years to start shipping all notebooks with flash hard drives and OLED screen technology. Watch them shear that thickness by at least another half. Touch screen technology on their laptops seem like a logical road to take after what the iPhone has done. Or are they saving that for a Newton re-introduction? Some kind of a bridge between an iPhone and MacBook? HMMMMM..... An Apple tablet would be niccccce.
The iTouch software upgrades are logical. I always said that the absence of e-mail was a glaring omission.
I guess I'm just surprised that they didn't increase the storage capacity on the iTouch and the iPhone. Or did I miss something?

OLED dies too fast.
I don't see touchscreens being that useful except for tablet notebooks, like the ThinkPad X60, or on notebooks with Windows SideShow (small external screen on the lid).

Absolutely amazing, though without the cd/dvd drive may not be practical for me. Mind you I think the MacBook Air aimed at a market-segment that is looking for a computer for the commute, not a desktop replacement.

Heh heh, reminds me of those Nokia Vertus from several years back.
