Drakkar Noir? Chaps?

Or even Anaís Anaís? [:o)]

What was the best perfume of the 80s? And didn't it seem that people used them a lot more back then? I can't remember the last time I put any on. I remember being given some Halston for Men. Was it a "gay perfume"? Is there such a thing?

Sorry...just some stupid random thoughts.

I can't smell Ralph Lauren's Polo without thinking back to the 80's. For the girls, I was wearing Christian Dior's Poison. Don't know if they were the best but they're the two that stand out for me.

In the 80s, it seemed that Giorgio was huge. CK's Eternity was everywhere, as was Chanel No. 5. Christian Dior's Poison was also huge--the only perfume I ever liked, even to this day.
In the 80s, perfume was heavy and cloying and fit that general 80s fashion (not new wave fashion) well--overdone and ornamented.

With the exception of Poision, I hated all perfumes, besides being allergic. I'm a patchouli girl anyway.

LOL, I recently thought of starting this very same thread - weird! [:D] Me, I was a Drakkar man. That bottle was all black, all mysterious and all minimal with a matte finish. Perfect for that all black clothing phase I went through during the eighties. There were a few others whose names totally escape me right now. Yeah, Poison was huge for girls. I remember getting it for my girlfriend at the time and how overjoyed she was with it. Funny.

English Leather, anyone? I was never much of a cologne guy, but for a while I did use Elsha. Anyone remember that stuff? Probably peaked in popularity in the late 70's.

It seems like perfume and cologne have become non-PC because they set off some people's allergies.

But aren't you glad that I did it instead so you wouldn't reinforce your devout metrosexuality...again? [:o)]

I remember wearing Lauren by Ralph Lauren. Then I moved over to the woodsy stuff like patchouli and sandalwood.

My favorite memory was in the mid-70's, though, when Jovan Musk Oil was so popular. Whenever I was going out on a date wearing my Jovan Musk my mom would always sniff and say "You smell like you're getting ready to mate". Fun times!

Man, I am so incredibly allergic to patchouli, it just kills me!

I wore Drakkar & Chaps. I also liked Saxon a lot, which was very cheap. My favorite early 80's cologne was Houbegant (sp?) Musk. I still have a little bottle of it somewhere - one whiff & I'm back at community college walking across the bridge between quads in the Autumn - I vividly remember the first time I wore it, how much I loved it and who I had a horrifyingly painful crush on.

My favorite late 80's cologne was Quorum - I still have a bottle of it, but I can't remember the last time I wore any cologne.

To my nose, Ted Lapidus was best. I still have a drop! Maybe I'll save it for the NWO get-together. [8D]

Had I not been a child in the 80s, it would have been Giorgio for me. But since I had to rely on my crappy allowance, my "Giorgio" came out of a spray can. Remember those Designer Imposter body sprays?

Ooooh! Look--they still make Primo, the Giorgio knockoff!

Chaps, Devon, Halston, Pierre Cardin... they were all ok cologne for men. Musk, however... that was some rank shit right there!

Huh uhh... not Katherine.
