So what do you think we'll look back on endearingly with wistful smiles whilst shaking our heads some twenty, thirty years from now?

1. Typing on keyboards to imput data on a computer
2. Dying from heart attacks, instead of taking a medication that grows new coronary arteries or getting a clone heart grown from non-diseased tissue (both under study now)
3. Movies/TV that weren't whatever the next generation of virtual reality will be
4. Land-line phones
5. Gas under $3.00/gallon
6. What life was like before hover-bikes (hey I can dream...[:D])

Our cars as we know them. Hybrid or alternative fuel will be the way I hope. BTW...whats a carborator? Remember when we could actually work on our own cars? Now you can't touch it. Cars don't have carbs anymore! I miss my 351 cleveland!

This is true. But do you see people really going that route? Aren't the pay providers offering more? Actually, I don't know everything about this.

Yeah, it's pretty safe to say that CDs are slowly on the way out. But I can see the mp3 being replaced by a higher quality format. Listening to an mp3 of In Between Days is like admiring a jpeg of the Mona Lisa.

Actually, I end up watching TV on my computer screen, I'm definitely not in need of HDTV so I don't know either. I just see the ads for them!

I think the ones using the TV antennae consider themselves to be the HDTV purists. The cable/satellite suppliers compress their HDTV signals (for bandwidth considerations I assume) so it's less HD than it would be in it's "over the air" broadcast form.

Interesting. Supposedly my Elgato Eye TV can receive these over the air HDTV signals. I should look into that.

I see all wires really going the way of the VCR. Bluetooth and like technologies should be installed in all future home electronics especially with TV broadcasts now following the all digital route. Just imagine: your computer, TV, DVR, stereo, video game consoles all recognizing eachother sans cable. This is already partially true today. I wonder if there can one day be a way to transfer power wirelessly also.

I also think we'll laugh at the bulk and screen size of our TVs today. With LCD becoming cheaper and cheaper we can one day have entire walls of touch screen video, becoming the center of entire media centers and switching to any kind of screen saver including a faux "wall" when not in use.

The only thing I really miss from the past is the genuine lack of cynicism and pessimism in my mind. I'll probably become moreso over time. Strangely enough, I am known to most people as being positive and upbeat, so it evens out (I suppose). Another thing I do (and will) miss is writing out letters and postcards to people: the whole entire process of [i]composing[/i] a letter using cursive script (with a 45-degree angle!), making sure not to make any mistakes (and, should I make one, I'd have to re-write the whole letter in order to make it look "clean"), going to the mailbox, and waiting... and waiting... and waiting to get that handwritten reply. Now, more than ever, I appreciate anything that is handwritten directed towards me (even criticism).
