We Are Doomed!

Tough call so far. All Iknow for sure is that since I'm not interested in living in a theocracy Hucakabee and Romney are not on my list.

Ron Paul for me. If he drops out and I'm left with a choice of any of those left, I'll just write in Joey Buttafuoco or one of my two favorite Charlies (Manson or Sheen).

I agree....we're doomed. IMHO Clinton was the last prez that was worth anything. Everyone that followed was either crazy (Reagan...c'mon, the guy was using astrology for chrissakes!)Or just plain old stupid (Bush SR. and JR.)

I have to point out that Clinton followed Reagan, not vice versa. I'm choosing Ms Clinton and Bill for first lady

Can someone please tell me what is all the hype about Obama? I don't see it. I watched the debate last night trying to find that spark everyone is talking about. Am I missing something?

You're missing the prospect that if Obama becomes the top African-American of the Democrats we might actually see less of Jesse Jackson & Al Sharpton on the news.

I support Obama, but if Hilary gets the nomination, then I will support her.

marie, this is just MHO ([:)]) , but Obama is an eloquent orator, is intelligent, has charisma, and is just refreshing compared to the old party standard. A current ad that he has got running ends with the words "the world as it is is not the way it has to be", and I LOVE that. Think about this statement. Sure, it's a platitude, but think of what that represents. Idealism. Optimism. The power of change. Hope. All that stuff wrapped up in a cool candidate that, frankly, stirs me. There's something about the guy....it's hard to put a finger on it, but he represents something different, something hopeful, something earnest. Go Obama !

I [b]do[/b] like Hilary, but Obama seems fresh to me, like he's not full-on "establishment" yet. He's talked about education, the inner cities, the working class, roads, schools....stuff that's general Democratic party platform material that I am passionate about. His fresh attitude may actually bring about change, shake a few things up. Most of all, I like his ideas about diplomacy, as opposed to the usual saber-rattling that we're all sick of. We need a diplomat in office, someone who'd be willing to sit and talk to other leaders, instead of bullying and threatening and secret back-door arms deals that the Repugs are so good at. (I am not saying that the Dems don't engage in some of that themselves. I just feel the GOP is more hell-bent in that area.)

You're missing nothing. He's eloquent ... big fucking deal. He's inexperienced (except when it comes to being corrupt ... he's an expert in that area) and he wouldn't even be considered a frontrunner if not for the color of his skin. He's a joke and he doesn't stand a chance no matter how much of the ethnic and white liberal guilt vote he gets.
