This morning I was listening to Alison Moyet's 2004 appropriately titled release, Voice. What a great covers album, and it's all that magnificent Alf voice, front and center.

No new wave connection that I know of, but I was also listening to Johnny Mathis and Astrud Gilberto today as I was burning their CDs for a good friend of mine. Totally relaxing, "kick back" music for me.

Going through some major stress right now and I keep reaching for k.d. lang's new one, "Watershed." Also have been listening to "Dark Road" by Annie Lennox quite a bit.

Lots of stuff by The Grateful Dead has that effect on me. I'm no Deadhead (although I've been known to smoke a fuck of a lot of weed)but if one of their "hits" comes on the radio (like Ripple, Shakedown Street, or Box Of Rain), it's instant great mood time. Go figure.[:I]
