Does anybody else watch this on the "Mojo" channel on Comcast? I guess it's sort of an HD-showcasing channel. "London Live" is a 30-minute show highlighting 1 or 2 songs by 3-4 usually current or up and coming artists. Right now it looks like mostly Season 1 and 2 repeats of about 6 months ago. Sometimes it's really good though.

Paul Weller was on last night doing a new song then finishing up with The Jam's "Running on the Spot". My wife and I were just casually watching while waiting for Smallville, but we got totally jacked up when it came on. Gomez were on the same set, who I quite like. Some bigger names like Morrissey, The Killers, Beck and Goldfrapp have been on. It's usually stuff like Kaiser Chiefs, Hard-Fi, Tim Finn, Guillemots, etc. It looks like Season 3 starts in March with Air, Editors, Klaxons, Groove Armada, Manic Street Preachers, etc (maybe delayed UK broadcasts as well).

Anyone seen these? More importantly, why the hell doesn't the U.S. have more music programming? With all their fucking bandwidth, can't MTV put on a decent show of stuff that's not incessantly "urban"? Who do I have to talk to?!

We get this channel through CoxHD and I've watched "London Live" several times. It's actually turned me on to a several bands I'd never heard.

MTV's HD "effort" is channel called MHD (http://www.mhd.tv). And it's pretty meh. All the Snoop Dog, Ludacris and Jay-Z you stand, plus some Storytellers shows thrown in with some CMT leftovers.

It's a waste. Anyone can catch that stuff on their other channels. Here, MTV has the opportunity to reach a different audience (more mature? sophisticated?), but they don't pay attention. I'm sure it won't be long until we can all catch Real World Season Eleventy-Million on there.
