Actually, I always thought that Janis Ian song was great. A bit of trivia...she and it was the very first musical performance on Saturday Night Live in 1975!

Here's a video clip of The Durutti Column. It's the perfect antithesis for the Bacardi commercial, yet manages to fit into the late night theme:

Does anyone here have a reel to reel? I remember my uncle had one in the seventies and eighties. I was fascinated by that thing. I remember the sound on his audio system being impeccable.
