Toys late 60' early 70's

All this talk about Tang and Space Sticks made me think about an old toy I used to play with.

Ok all you old people, does anyone remember a building set that had a space theme about it where you could build spaceships and spaceports. You got these long white connectors with blue panels. I remember the box had a spaceship on it and the blue and white theme really stands out. I'm pretty sure that it wasn't made by Lego (but I could be wrong).

Not much to go on, I never had one but a friend of mine did and this was late 68-69 early 70-71. He was a greedy cuss and hardly ever played with it but when he broke it out I had a blast with it.

I had a Major Matt Mason and a shitload of accessories but I don't remember exactly what they were or what they looked like ... could it be something like that?

Was it Grippity Gravity? There was a little space rover with tracks and space stations. The rover could drive through loops and upside down. It had little notiches on the wheels and tracks.

It was one of my favorite toys, even after I had the bright idea to run the rover over my head which grabbed a huge chunk of hair and had to be cut out.

It's blue and white alright but it's not the one I remember and it's not Major Matt Mason either. Keep trying cause this is going to drive me crazy.

Sounds like something I would have liked, but I don't remember it. There were some cool space toys at that time - Major Matt Mason, Colorforms Aliens...

F****** Evil Knievel the wind up and go motor cycle... That was so cool he was the first Xtreem athlete ever!!! You just locked in the Knievel motor cycle on the winder thing place on the ground wind it up and go...


The $6,000,000 Man... w/ Bionics.. Shit that was soooo cool roll up his rubber skin on his arm and place in Bionics... The technology back then was amazing... now all we have is the internet. It was way better than stretch Armstrong he was gay...

Hey Jason better than $6MM man, Armstrong (weak toy), and Evil is G.I. Joe--too bad my mom gave all of it away, I had almost everything... including two of the "original" G.I. Joes from Woolworth's and Desmond's Department stores!!!

Ha. Talk about wishing you hadn't got rid of something... I remember my younger brother wanting a G.I Joe so bad. Christmas day came and he was so excited when he ripped the paper off of it. It was a talking G.I Joe too. Well, he rips it out of the box pulls the string, and the doll spoke French. One of the joys of living in a bilingual country. We still laugh about that every Christmas and he always says he wishes my mother hadn't returned it for an English one.

The $6 mm man was w-a-y cool, and GI Joe kicked ass, but man did we love our Planet of the Apes dolls...er...action figures. I remember one day undressing Zira for some reason and WOW! This ape lady had quite a rack under that green smock. I think Zira became a nudist after that day...oh man, we were warped little bastards.
