Earth Day

LOL...apparently, I'm supposed to have turned all the lights off in the house for one hour, from 8 pm to 9 pm. The reason I know this is I just had a person knock on the door to remind me, as they saw some lights on. After shooing him away, I turn on the TV to see that the sheeple are all gathered downtown to celebrate this worthy occasion by, I guess, standing around in the dark.

Needless to say, many lights will remain on in the eight6 abode. Hell, I might turn on the washer and dryer just to put an exclamation point on things. I call it Goreification.

LOL is right - unbelievable! I can't imagine someone knocking on my door and reminding me to observe an hour of darkness. Too bad you didn't answer the door in a black grim reaper outfit - could have told them that you ARE darkness! Now if you do run your washer and dryer for an hour, you could contribute to the already rampant global warming. Which in turn would cause more polar ice to melt and who knows what would be next - better get your ark built soon!

I just checked google still has the black background, they turned out the lights for Earth hour. I'm spending my hour on the computer with the tv on not watching it and doing laundry. Damn, that's a sad commentary on my life when it's a Saturday night.

I just turned my computer and lights back on. It feels great knowing I'm better than you all.

I was a little bit late; turned off my lights at 9PM... slept like a baby, woke up 7 1/2 hours later, and turned them back on!

I'm still waiting for the coming global ice age that the experts were harping about when Earth Day started.

Energy Wasting Day diary:

- Woke up to a house heated to a balmy 86° F. (You were expecting a different temp?)

- Brewed a whole pot of coffee, and even tried a cup.

- Instead of using a toaster, I made toast using the grill feature of the oven.

- Before eating breakfast, I started my car & let it idle for 45 minutes, until the interior temp. was 86° F.

- Double checked to make sure every light in the house was on.

- Programmed thermostat to keep the house at a toasty 86° until 3 pm, when the A/C will kick in to lower it to 50° when at 7 pm the wife will jack it back up to 72° and ask me why all the lights are on and the house is so damned cold.

Just doing my part.
