This band just went up a few notches in my book.

Oasis and Blur. Two bands I never could get into in more than superficial or passive way. I was too wrapped up in what Morrissey, Depeche, New Order (and New Order splinter groups), PSB, etc. were doing in the nineties. For variety I began to explore other musical genres also. I guess that on some level, I rejected Oasis on the basis that they were a more commercialized version of all the bands coming out of Manchester during the early nineties. I just didn't like liking the same bands that so many in the mainstream liked. I know, insufferably shallow but there you have it.

I like their Sunday Morning Call and Stop Crying Your Heart Out. But sadly, i prefer Coldplay. [:D]

And now, im into Snow Patrol.

<p align="justify">The opposite here. Every song they had on the radio sounded absolutely catchy. They're more of a "singles" band, though. The album songs are okay, but a lot of it could be more-or-less filler material (same with Blur, Travis, The Bluetones, Idlewild). Funny, I really really had high hopes for Rialto 'cause they sounded waaaaay better than any of the BritPop bands, and they turned out to be the least successful of the bunch. Hey, at least Suede took off big in the scene - and they were heavily influenced by Morrissey AND had cover designs by Peter Saville[}:)]
