I don't speak spanish, but it seems that in Mexico the EMO crowd and punk crowd don't get along. If anyone here speaks spanish, could you please let the rest of us know what the conflict is all about?

Oh yes. They surely need a good pounding for THAT. But then when did bullies ever need an excuse?

I would expect the Jocks to pick on these types (ex-goths and gender benders could vouch for that), but the Punks???

Observation: Illegal immigrants seems to be mostly of the urban tribe "hip-hop" [:0]. How come we don't get any punks or emo? EDIT: According to the article emo's tend to be middle class.

Yeah, I too am surprised at how divergent the underground scenes have become, at least the way they are over there in Mexico. And not for nothing, but I remember alot of jocks listening to New Wave too. Although I can understand that whole femme thing being a bit much for the mainstream.

<p align="justify">I can think of a coupla reasons:

1. Those "emo" kids are middle class, who are probably perceived as bored middle-class kids pretending to have it tough.
2. "Emo" kids dressing in girls' clothing? In predominantly-Catholic mexico? Add machismo attitudes and volatile tempers, and it makes sense they'd get their arses kicked all over the place[}:)]
