I credit Jan & Dean to be one of the greatest bands of the 60's. Who here likes Jan & Dean and more importanly the 'Save For A Rainy Day' album that was credited as Jan & Dean, but only Dean's vocals appear on the album. It was supposed to be released on Columbia while Jan was still recovering but Columbia pulled the plug at the last minute. The even greater mystery is 'Carnival Of Sound' album which only an acetate exsists.
thank you

I always found myself more fascinated in the Jan and Dean story than I was with their music.

My kid was watching the banana splits on cartoon channel and guess who was on....Jan Michael Vincent! He was on this cheesy weekly show about being on a lost island with savages and pirates. It was filmed on like a back lot in someones back yard. Anyone remember this?

I had the pleasure in seeing Jan & Dean in concert in 1978 during
their huge tour of that year.
They were real good despite Jan's disability. Jan still rocked !
Instead of Jan singing,He spoke/sang a little on the songs while one side of his body was slightly peralyzed due 2 the fact as we all
kno from the accident.
It was an enjoyable concert & the fans didnt really seem 2 care
about Jan's situation,it was good just 2 see them live on stage.
From what i understand,Jan & Dean continued 2 tour up until Jan's
death.
Here's a pic of the LP that supported that tour: Jan & Dean "Dead Man's Curve"<a href="http://s278.photobucket.com/albums/kk93/bostenman/?action=view¤t=a524808a8da0abad16918110__AA240__L.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i278.photobucket.com/albums/kk93/bostenman/a524808a8da0abad16918110__AA240__L.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a>

Danger island!!!! Hutter you are the best! I remember the sound was missing from most of every show. They just had back round music. Then a few times they would talk and it would not match up to their mouths moving. It was always the same thing...the pirates chased Jan around then all of a sudden the wild savages came out. They would get scared and run off.
