Just picked it up--author is a local guy. The jacket blurbs have a lot of comparisons to "High Fidelity," which is a pretty good way of suckering me into buying a book, one that I know has some fans here.

I saw the Gus Van Sant movie, Last Days. I thought it was great. Without much dialogue, it was a sort of visual tone poem meditating on the synchronous nature of the inner and the outer, the congruence of the apparent and the unapparent.....

OK, one more scotch and I'm off to bed.....
