Misheard lyrics

Two songs I heard today had me momentarily puzzled.

Atlanta Rhythm Section's "So Into You" and Pilot's "Magic".

The second verse of "So Into You" sounds like "There was doo doo in the vase" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WpPdLb69-qk . And the dude from Pilot sounds like he's saying "My Dick" instead of "Magic" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TF7I6G8z ... re=related .

I had to google the lyrics to make sure I wasn't imagining things. Turns out I was. I need to lay off the mushrooms.

Any other songs that sounds like they're saying something else besides the obvious CCR "There's A Bathroom On The Right" and Jimi Hendrix's "Pardon Me While I Kiss This Guy"?

I still think in the Icehouse song "Nothing Too Serious", the dude sings "I had a little laxative, nothing too serious", no matter what anyone says.

I'm embarassed to say I used to think it was "Charlene" who "don't like it" in "Rock the Casbah".

My friend used to think in the Band Aid song the line was "the only gift they'll get this year is flies". Hahaha...er...I guess that's not funny, is it.

I could have sworn that ELO were wailing over the Medieval Woman and that The Dukes of Hazzard Are In The Classroom (Pink Floyd, The Wall). [:o)]

It's topics just like this that have spawned four books (counting the holiday edition, plus accompanying day-to-day calendars) and a website. China Grove.... As a child I thought they were singing, "Shiny Goat."

Until just five minutes ago when I saw this in the thread about bands you couldn't get into, I thought in "Christine" Siouxsie was saying "but not a sweet lady" rather than "banana split lady."

(Banana split lady? WTF?)

Obviously, you're out of the loop.

It always sounded like Fiction Factory was saying Feels Like Kevin instead of Feels Like Heaven, especially since I knew what my friend Kevind felt like. It was our love song.

Someone is going to have to 'splain, I guess. [:I] Is it because I never had MTV?

I read this on another website, but it never fails to crack me up "precious & few are the moments we Toucans share" instead of "two can share."

So it turns out I was wrong on these two-

Bryan Adams wasn't "finding it hard to believe you're eleven".

And Steve Miller was singing about a "big ol' jet airliner" and not a "big ol' red vagina".

i STILL remember hearing Elvis Costello & The Attractions' "Oliver's Army" on the radio and thinking it was "I'll have lasagne"...

The real lyrics to The Cars' "I'm in Touch with Your World":

"I’m a psilocybin pony.
You’re a flick fandango phoney."

My version:

I'm a seven-sided pony.
You're a big fat macaroni.

The way I heard Simple Minds:

Promised you a miracle
Guinea pigs are beauty things

Should be:

Belief is a beauty thing.

The way I heard Talking Heads:

And she could see an earmuff factory

Should be

And she could see a nearby factory

The way I heard The Cult:

Hot sticky sheets, you know what I mean [:p]

Should be:

Hot sticky scenes...

ZZ Top is not:
"Give me all your washin',
all your rugs and dishes too"!

I got some strange looks when I sang this one out loud.
