In todays society it seems that spouse swapping is getting more and more fashionable and acceptable. Hell, there are even reality shows swapping wives. Is this stuff really going on or am I reading too many Penthouse Forum stories??????
Who here has friends they would swap with if they could?

I'm seeing the previews for that new TV show about swapping. Really? Do we need a show about that? or rather, do we need a show like that on Network TV, wouldn't cable be a much better place so we could see some actual swapping?

A couple my husband and I were friends with moved abroad and they keep asking us (esp. me) to come visit them. One of the reasons I haven't gone yet is that I'm worried my friend's husband might have ideas . . .
**edited to clarify which husband I was referring to [;)]

At a birthday party for one of my 5 year old son's friends, I was approached by one of the dad's while the kids were eating cake. He started talking about my wife and how hot she was and suggested the two of us come to a swingers party with he and his wife.
Not to sound like a prude, but WTF? It was during a kid's birthday party for fuck's sake!
It wouldn't surprise me if this shit is happening.

So I had a very split-level suburban 70's childhood . . .
Was having lunch a couple of years ago with my mom and somehow the subject of key parties came up. She said "I never went to a key party . . . but no one could ever say that I didn't LIVE."
Eww Eww!

I live in a town that's one town in from the shore - strictly middle class. The shore town next to us is definitely upper upper middle class with a sprinkling of the rich. There's lots of friendships and plenty of rumor mills between our two towns. We get lots stories of "those xville guys" and their swinger parties. I'm inclined to believe the stories because over time there's also stories of tons of broken marriages and those same people hooking back up within the same community. Christ people, don't shit where you eat!
I wonder if this activity is more prevalent in more affluent neighborhoods. Has boredom set in for them? I figure working stiffs are too busy busting hump to make a living as opposed to actual humping. All I know is that I DO NOT want to know what my friends are doing behind closed doors. I don't fucking care about their sex lives. We make our share of crude jokes and razz eachother about being weirdos or whatnot, but it does not get past the joke part. From a purely practical standpoint, shit gets complicated when you're fucking someone, much less when multiple people are fucking multiple other people. Who needs that shit?! Freakin' nuts.

The whole point in any trade is to get equal or greater value in return for what you're giving. So ... no, I'd never do it.
Philly - You wouldn't mean UTAH, by any chance, would you???

There are clubs that cater to that out here (big surprise, right?).
I couldn't do it.

I worked with a couple guys with wives or girlfriends that were actively involved in this. The one guy was pretty discreet about it and he never mentioned it the other would give details to anyone that would listen.

I will make a long story short:
My daughters communion a few years ago. I have a house full of friends and family. I am busy as all hell and a good friend that we socialized with all the time tells me that she and her husband had gone to a swingers club the night before. She goes on to say that she and her husband discussed who they would like to swap with and would we be interested? I quickly find my husband and he tells me he was approached about the same thing by the husband. EWW! (we said no if anyone is wondering)
My husband does talk to the guy at work once in a while and surprise, they are getting divorced.
The thing that pissed me off was, when they approached us the first time, they told us that we were the only people they would swap with. Then we find out from our friends that they asked them to swap at my daughters communion too. Liars [:p]
