With song titles like that...

...it just has to suck. Remember looking at lp & CD covers for groups you've never heard before and imagining what the music might sound like? I'm betting this would be in my "I Hate It" file:

Looking at the name of the band and the track listing, I would have thought of death metal, not minimal synth.

We didn't sell a lot of records, but somehow we left an impression.

Poor Pete Wentz. Dethroned from his rightful place as Worst Song Titlist in the World.

It takes a lot of "talent" to dethrone the guy who came up with "Champagne for My Real Friends, Real Pain for My Sham Friends," "Get Busy Living or Get Busy Dying (Do Your Part to Save the Scene and Stop Going to Shows)," "I’ve Got a Dark Alley and a Bad Idea That Says You Should Shut Your Mouth (Summer Song)" and the immortal "It's Not a Side Effect of the Cocaine, I Am Thinking It Must Be Love."

This would be great without the "(Summer Song)" added on.

^^^ LOL

My favourite was always "Our Lawyer Made Us Change..."

Mind you, I always thought some Morrissey song titles gave that guy a run for his money...

"Mine's A Large One, Landlord" by The Damned always made me chuckle.

Morrissey's come up with some bad song titles, to be sure, but -- and I'm saying this as a total non-fan -- he at least worked them into the song most of the time. Some of the time, there was even a vocal hook to go with them.

Fall Out Boy's inane song titles:

a) Are not found in the lyrics
b) Have nothing to do with the lyrics
c) Aren't clever enough to make you excuse a and b.

Then you've got stuff like "This Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race," which is still terible, but at least they put it in the lyrics.

Admittedly, Wentz is capable of coming up with decent titles when he wants to (which isn't often). "Dance, Dance" and "Thnks fr th Mmrs" (or however you spelled it) -- maybe they don't bring anything new to the table, but at least you can guess what the thing is called by just listening to it. "Mmrs" is sort of halfway clever when you realize that they took out the vowels because somebody at the label told them their song titles were TOO LONG.
