Indeed. I've been fortunate enough to see him several times throughout the years and he always used insightful comedy to make me laugh and think. Well perhaps now he will indeed have a "place for his stuff"

I am deeply saddened. He was the only celebrity I bought books on. I knew where he was coming from and could totally relate. He will be missed.

I was really shocked this morning when I heard. [:(]
What a really funny guy.
Is it me or does it seem like there are so many deaths this past month?

Sad indeed ... one of my heroes and an inspiration -- a world class comic that made you think while pissing yourself laughing. Saw him about 10 years ago and I wish I would have seen him again. Glad he went out ranting and kicking and most importantly - reminding people that we're all here for a short while and life is full of inanities, absurdities and a lot of bullshit, so try to laugh at it all every now and then and you'll see where 'ol George was coming from.

Carlin was really really great. He just headlined at a local club a few weeks ago. Tickets were $75, though, and they sold out fast.
I loved that he had no fear -- he was quick to call out political conservatives (and often the left) for the jackasses they are. I also can profess that, every time someone mentions the game of golf, I remember what Carlin ranted about them. (COCKSUCKERS!!)

Agreed. An absolute, fearless and brutally honest comedian who did it his way. He will be missed.
We didn't sell a lot of records, but somehow we left an impression.
