What Happens With Junk We Toss In Ocean

Your discarded love doll is probably stuck (along with other nonbiodegradable garbage) in a gyre. What the hell is that, you ask? "An oceanic gyre is a swirling vortex of currents that crates a whirlpool effect," says Anna Cummins, an advisor for the Algalita Marine Research Foundation. The biggest (and scariest) one? "We describe the North Pacific Gyre as a huge toilet bowl that never flushes," Cummins says. Estimated at twice the size of Texas and roaming from Hawaii to Alaska, this putrid stretch can contain up to 3330,000 bits of plastic per square kilometer (the ocean average, according to the U.N., is 13,000). Broken down into its fundamental parts, the plastic is mistaken for grub by sea animals, ends up in the food chain, and, finally, in your lobster bisque.

Plastic an pvc waste is supposed to be pretty evil, long-lasting stuff. I don't know how accurate tis is, but I've read that 99% of all plastic ever created is still in circulation in the environment, mostly as junk. The stuff just keeps accumulating, ton after ton of it.

And a lot of it was worthless junk to begin with like Apart From The Crowd records.
We didn't sell a lot of records, but somehow we left an impression.

Thanks for your opinion, minty, but I guess it's best to just speak for yourself. Speaking for everyone didn't really work out so well.
