Cable TV or Direct TV ?

Just switched back to Directv from cable, a few more HD channels available. Got all the channels for the price of the NFL Sunday Ticket package, football heaven on Sundays.

DirecTV, as it is way cheaper than cable in my area, andI have the Starz included, all for 42 bucks a month, plus tax and fees...[:)]

Time-Warner (is AOL still in there?) can't even come close![}:)]

You need to add Fiber Optic to the options.

Got Verizon FiOS this year and after a few glitches with malfunctioning set top boxes, I'm very happy. I had DirecTV prior to this and loved it, but wanted to save some money. Went with Cablevision and within a DAY, I called Verizon. Cablevision's cable system and their onscreen guides and miserable DVR (can't search for a show by name?!) are from the 1990s.

Not to mention in the days I was waiting for Verizon to hook us up, our cable service went out for 6 hours - no explanation, clear day. Never had anything even close to that kind of outage with DirecTV - in some serious storms your signal can go our for a bit, but nothing longer than a half hour usually. (And even that's only for severe storms - maybe 4 or 5 times a year?)

I highly recommend FiOS now. Though I have nothing bad to say about DirecTV. I just wanted to bundle my service which at the end of the day probably only saves me about $20-25. (Note - I think you can bundle DirecTV with Verizon phone and DSL in some areas of the country.)
