One for the techno geeks: Canon EOS 5D Mk2

The Canon EOS 5D Mk II has just been announced. It looks like yet another high-end prosumer digital SLR camera. Yup, it's got the ever-more megapixels...21 in this case. That's a lot of megas, especially for "only" $2700. But it also shoots up to ISO 25,600. Remember grainy ISO 400 film? This is 6 stops faster...basically can shoot by candlelight. But Nikon had done this before with their D3, granted at half the megas.
It also shoots full 1080p video. In Quictime MOV mode so you can just drop it into Final Cut instantly. It works with any Canon EOS lens...incredible creative control. Nikon just did similar with their consumer 80D camera. But this has a full-frame chip that's seemingly acres bigger than a traditional HD videocam. Even a pro studio 2/3" sensor is only 8.8 x 6.6mm. This sucker is 36 x 24mm...massive light-collecting and depth-of-field control potential. And now this dude is saying that the low-light performance of the video is better than the $100,000+ Red One pro production cameras.
