The bill was supposed to be passed by today. So of course something went wrong and now it did not. No bail out plan for the economy. We are so fucked. You can almost see the crash coming. We need a different system or a friggin dictator already.

This bill needs more time then a week to pass.
The president had this bill in the works for a few months prior. Maybe he should have let everyone else in on it before the sh*t hit the fan.

The creation of government backed loan entities like FNMA and FHLMC made this all possible. It was a government attempt to help "the little guy", who had trouble getting a loan. Unfortunately, it gave banks the go ahead to make questionable deals and ultimately not have to deal with the consequences.
Giving banks the power to make bad loans that they ultimately didn't have to be responsible for was a bad idea. Now we all, get to pay for it. Even the best of intentions go awry when there is no accountability. Something many have yet to learn.
When the government gets involved in "improving" your life, watch out! Our public school system is a joke. Our tax system is retarded. The Post Office is unprofitable while UPS and Fed Ex make millions.
The bigger the government becomes, the more scandals and corruption we get. And yet some continue to push for more taxes, more bureaucracy and more intrusion into their lives. That's not the answer, it is the problem!
You think this current situation sucks, just wait until we get "universal" health care. Put the people that brought you FEMA in charge of your medical needs. I'm sure no one will take advantage of THAT system at OUR expense.
Can you imagine these purveyors of waste, inadequacy and incompetence in charge of approving your medical procedures and ultimately telling your doctor whether or not he can perform a life saving act?
I don't want to have to wait to get some potentially terminal illness treated for my paperwork to get stamped by some fat fuck behind a big desk who wasn't even qualified for the job in the first place but got hired because of some government mandated quota and now, no matter how many mistakes they make, can't be fired for the fear of a discrimination lawsuit.
Fuck I'm moving to Mars!

Similar to the Patriot act which was written well in advance of 911.
What do you call someone who likes it when the government screws them over and over? - Federalsexual.
There's a new sexual revolution and the whole country is taken part in it. They are tops and we are bottoms. After a while one begins to like it[:p].

Wow! Cured, this is the first post I ever saw you make and you start making enemies. There is a better way to speak to people on the board and get listened to. Oh...and go fuck yourself you pompous turd. Welcome! and let me guess, you must have a fake email account or hidden ip address. I wonder what jerk from the past you are. And whatever you have, I hope they never find a cure.

ok, let's assume you are right.
what is the cost to taxpayers if the government does nothing?
I know it's a difficult question to answer, especially considering you will need to calculate the amount of money homeowners will lose if homes continue to depreciate and all that job loss and trickle down effect mumbo jumbo. I know it's very difficult to put numbers on urban blight and stuff like that. I know it's hard to determine what, if any, cost it will be to taxpayers who are unable to finance cars or their charge card rates increase. I'm sure I've left many things out when trying to calculate the final cost of either decision but you are obviouslyt well-informed on the cost of a plan that has yet to be determined so you obviously have some insider info and I'm sure you've weighed the costs of both so to help all of us who don't know these answers if you'd be so kind to share I think everyone will be appreciative. Thanks!
