What did people think?

I thought McCain actually did surprisingly well in one sense. It struck me that he was who he was and was sincere in representing that because he really couldn't be anyone else. I felt conscious that Obama was being very analytical, treating this as almost an academic exercise. I wonder how that's going to play with Americana if indeed others noted or felt that.

I'm with coop. And I also noted that McCain would not look at Obama the entire evening.
McCain looks so old. Too old. Just my opinion.

I thought it was a tie... Obama held his own against McCain--I felt no one won the debate, too bad Sarah didn't get her 5 mnutes after the debate, she declined to appear, WTF?--Rudy spoke instead, is he gunning for a cabinet position, or what...

McCain was an embarassment. He came off nervous, angry, bitter and condescending. His preparation was just regurgitations from previous debates. Not to mention he never looks at the camera (the people) let alone his opponent which shows a total lack of respect. Not very presidential (unless the yardstick your measuring has W at the top). Seriously, all you Conservatives are going to go along with this? Sarah Palin? Campaign Suspension? "McCain Wins Debate"? How pathetic can you get? You know "Maverick" was also a TV show about a bullshit artist.

It's like Otter said: "Look, you fucked up. You trusted us."
That's the Republican Party in a nutshell.

Unfortunately I was working during the debate, and have no DVR so I missed it. I typically vote Democratic (voted Kerry last election) but I am not so sure of Obama. I mean, how do you stay in a church for 20 years run by a preacher who spewed out hatred for America? It was only when the media covered the issue that he had an "awakening" and departed from the church. That's my two cents, I am still undecided.

Not worried about that old guy, but if the president takes his hate speeches to heart, that might be an issue.

yea, i didn't like mccain in this debate. at first i was rooting for him but then i started to like obama better. in the end, i thought obama won the debate. i hope mccain does better in the upcoming debate
