You are not reading an old thread. It was about 3 weeks ago when I had a really painful one. So I figured I am good for 2 years till I get another. That is the way it has been for years. Well Saturday I wake up at 4 to a real bad pain and feeling sick. But because I already had one, I just thought it was something else. It was not like the others that would drop me on the floor but it was bad. Went to the e.r. and got a picture of it. Then spent 24 hours drinking water till they let me out. I will 100% follow up with the doc and find out why this is going on. I can't go on like this. It totally sucks but the meds are nice.

Philly- I feel your pain (figuratively)

Are you following your care plan? Drinking lots of water, maybe taking medication religiously, following the correct diet etc?

Sorry to hear about this again, Philly!

We didn't sell a lot of records, but somehow we left an impression.

Thanks everybody. Yes I am doing what they say. I even went one year never cheating on the diet at all giving up anything even related to something that could give you stones. I still got it. It is pretty clear to all that I am producing them regardless of diet. My next move will be to get my parathyroid checked. This gland can be faulty and cause stones. If so I will get them removed. Anything so as not to go through this again.

Ditto - hope you feel better. I had a friend with kidney stones, and he needed a morhpine IV. Good luck in avoiding the next bout.

Stones are the worse pain I have ever experienced...not counting the emotional removal of my testicles during a difficult divorce.

They gave me Toradol because I couldn't lie still for an x-ray but it did nothing at all. Another nurse came up with some Morphine and injected it through my IV and I was instantly ready to go home. That shit rawks (is that what the kids say nowadays?).

My Dr. said that after the age 40, the re-occurrence of stones for males, drops significantly and so far it has been true.

Good luck there Philly...

I never thought much about stones until I read up on your pain-filled posts philly. I am sorry to hear about it; hope you figure out the source. They sound awful. I drink a lot of caffeine, but also a lot of water and juice.

Been there to Philly.I had them once and it was some of the worst pain in my life with the exception of a recent surgery I had last Tuesday.

I hope you recover and feel better.

Thanks for all the nice thoughts and comments guys. I just made my follow up appointment with the doctor for oct. 7th. Blood and urine work as well as sonogram. I have to find an answer. Tons of water have not worked so we shall see.
