Hey listen I'm a Beatles fan and everything but Ringo has "too much to do"? Oh yeah? Like what?

I was never one for writing fan mail anyway nor have I ever had the sudden urge to drop Ringo a line so no skin off my nose but why announce it publicly on your website? Why not just NOT answer fan mail like every other celebrity? Geez, can't he afford a PR man?

What an ass.

He needs to grit his teeth (grind them to powder, if he has to), smile and pass it all along to an assistant/PR person to deal with--and perhaps be glad anyone gives a shit about him in the first place.

Remember the Simpsons episode with Ringo finally opening up fan mail from Marge after many years of the letter sitting on the to read pile?

I agree with birdmadgirl. This does make him look like an ass! Why the hell is he so arrogant? How much fan mail could he possibly be getting 40 years after the fact? But more importantly why post a video on your OWN website telling your OWN fans that you're going to throw their fanmail in the trash? I mean....my God...even Britney Spears would have more class than that.

According to the various news stories about this rather bizarre video. Ringo released an album about Liverpool earlier this year, flew to Liverpool to perform it in concert and then badmouthed the city on television.

Ringo Starr is the last celebrity I would expect a public meltdown from. In a way it's kind of hilarious though.[:D]

Most likely he could just take them out.

He should be happy he has so many fans that are still alive. Shit, he should be lucky he's still alive to complain about it.

Maybe he finally realizes he sucks ass and is embarrassed to even have fans?

Who the hell sends Ringo Starr fan mail?

Beatle fans, and probably many who have enjoyed many of his excellent releases. His music, in my opinion, has gotten better with age. He definitely can write a great pop song these days. So I imagine it is not difficult to believe on a planet with billions of people, there are quite a few that would be fans. Just a guess. I think he went about this the wrong way, no doubt. A simple memo on his web site stating that with his various commitments he would no longer be able to respond to letters,etc with a thank you to all those that took the time to write him, etc.....then, if people continued to write, he would have at least notified them in advance in a more appropriate manner. I also quite imagine he is busy. He contributes as a musician on many other artist releases, as well as work on his own upcoming material. I've found his solo work these past 10 years to be perhaps his best of his career. He has some absolute gems on each of his releases.
