Some of the TDSB's reasons are a joke. One of the calls into one of the radio stations, "Isn't calling it Black and Orange Day offensive to afro-canadians and protestants?" I guess gone are the days where kids go to the school in costumes, carve pumpkins, bob for apples, hear scary stories. Heck I remember back in the day, a haunted house type thing being setup in one of the gyms, by the older students for the younger ones. ...
What the heck has happened? How about teaching the immigrant kids about Halloween. Black and Orange Day, do we celebrate the Philly Flyers or the Cincinnati Bengals? [;)]
