Worst NFL Season .... Ever?????

Postby coop41 » Mon Nov 10, 2008 11:47 am

Is it me? Come on. It's terrible.
I know many of you tonight are just finding out Arizona has a professional football team. A victory tonight gives us a 4 game lead in our division. 4 games! Good grief. Guys have played QB this year that wouldn't be on an NFL Europe team. What the Hell is up???

I saw a highlight of yesterday's Lions game, they had a 4th and 34 and the guy throws a pass to the RB coming out into the flats. He was even miffed he got the ball. 6 yard gain, turnover on downs. No wonder why they haven't won a game.

Well...here in downstate New York, our two professional football teams are a combined 14-4 so we're not complaining.

We didn't sell a lot of records, but somehow we left an impression.

I rest my case. The Jets? C'mon. The Giants did just about everything possible to try to lose that game in the 4th quarter last night and they might be the best team right now.

It is weird isn't it? As I watched tonight's game with my buddies - wearing my vintage 1999 Rams blue-n-gold Kurt Warner jersey - we all commented how weak the season is this year. There are NO truly dominant teams, and no way I'm calling either the Gints or Tittans dominant teams. What the hell has happened to the Mutha Foockin' League?

I'm sure the Cardinals will not let us down and find a way to end the season at (8-9-0)

Try rooting for the Browns, they enter the last quarter leading two games in a row and get out scored a combined 38 to 7 in the fourth quarter of those games. I bought the NFL Sunday Ticket to watch this crapola. Ugh.

I was at the Cardinals game last night. 49ers deserved the win. Damn....Suzy Kolber is HOT!!! Joe Namath had it right.

No dominant team, true, but I can't say that it has broken my heart to watch the Cowboys lose, and the Broncos defense be sliced through like butter.

And the Chiefs? Well, ummm... wait till next decade. The Lions? yep, flirting with destiny. Raiders? Reality show waiting to happen.

But overall I have to say that the season has been a good one. A lot of the games that I've seen (especially the ones involving the Steelers) have been good, physical games. And the way Roethlisberger throws just enough interceptions to keep the games close has been very sporting.

And for once, the NFC East is (almost) living up to the Fox hype machine.

Lots of football to be played yet before I'd be willing to give up on the season.

Well...week 11 is almost over and the defending Super Bowl champs are 9-1 and the less successful tenant in the Meadowlands is 7-3. Plus The Jets have...

The Chargers are just dissolving....and after last season's high. We miss Merriman more than the organisation says...

As someone who routintely watches the Sunday/Monday night games from the UK, I'm enjoying this season and the fact that there's no outright favourite.

I'm on the Giants, with the Steelers and Packers as outsiders. Can't personally see the Titans maintaining their early season form when they reach the play-offs. Wouldn't discount the Patriots even without Brady, either.

No doubt this post will come back to haunt me...

The Jets look pretty legit right now.

The Jets are playing pretty good football. The Giants look like the best team to me. The Titans don't impress me at all.

With that said, there are so many terrible teams this year I am even further convinced this is the worst overall group of teams in any year in recent memory.

Chargers wise, It seems like loss after loss the local pundits claim again and again "we need to win the next game, we're still in this thing". I wonder which game will be the final nail in the coffin. I've already written the eulogy. San Diego may be the worst sports city in the country this year. bummer.
