So, my son is watching the 20th anniversary edition of the Transformers Movie (the 1986 animated one) on DVD. I'm not paying attention but in one scene the music grabs me and I look up from my newspaper. What is this song? It sounds like Devo, but surely it can't be.

It took me more than a few minutes before it came back to me...Weird Al's Devo parody "Dare to Be Stupid". Duh!

From wikipedia (if you can trust it as a source): Shortly after the song was released, Yankovic received a letter from Mark Mothersbaugh congratulating him on writing "the perfect Devo song".

It's really great. sorta sounds like "Time Out For Fun". You can tell that video was made out of love.
