Lotteries You Didn't Want To Win

The 2010 Winter Olympics are 14 months away and Vancouver is still a massive construction zone. In an effort to ensure the "public" gets tickets, we've just been through round one of ticket sales - a massive lottery open to residents of Canada.
I requested numerous tickets, just hoping I'd get one or maybe two events......only to find I've "won" about $10,000 worth of tickets! All billed to my visa last night, just in time for Christmas!
Craig's list, here I come!

It is 4 seats each for 10 events...a couple of cheaper events offset by some men's hockey at $300 a ticket!
Well, at least it's only $7,500 US!

My interest is strictly technical...how does the top guy not fall off?
And don't laugh, curling gets better ratings numbers here than any other sport on TV (other than hockey).

That's a great marketing gimmick. Pretend something's going to be so popular you need a lottery for it to get people to join in.

Wow, some of the men's gold hockey tickets are selling online for $2,500 each (face value $743). I got the men's bronze medal hockey game and a couple of quarterfinal games...maybe I anmake a few bucks.
More than anything though, I can't wait for all the f$%*$*&^%$g road and infrastructure work to be done, so my daily commute gets back to normal.

LOL, you must have done something right Zill. I was watching the news last night and they interviewed some folks who complained they bid on many events like you and got nothing. You could probably come out ahead on the deal. [:D]

Maybe he used mine, I got a call today from the credit card company telling me someone has been enjoying some fine dining and a few movies on my card in Toronto this week ($500 for one of the meals) [}:)] So now I wait for my new cards arrive. I should call the credit card company back to see if there are some Olympic hockey tickets on there LOL.
