Not a particularly religious person but I gotta say that the fact that Muzak plays "politically correct"--if there can be such a thing--Xmas muzak makes me ill. Go into a store piping in Muzak this year and hear songs such as "Do You Hear What I Hear?" or "We Three Kings",etc etc etc.--Mostly just snowman,Rudolph and Santa songsthis year sprinkled with the occasional White Christmas or Sleigh Ride. Cant wait to find ut what we dont hear next year--maybe no Xmas tunes at all.

I'm sure there's nothing even close to resembling truth in your observations but I'll offer an educated guess as what MAY be happening (if it's even happening at all).

More upscale stores most likely play either no xmas music or play it in the most unobtrusive way possible while the stores which attract customers who are lower in the evolutionary pecking order (the Walmarts of the world) play anything and everything xmas related, no matter how tacky ... and at ear-splitting volumes.

Just a guess ... no way in Hell am I going into any retail establishment other than a grocery store until at least mid-January. [:D]

We didn't sell a lot of records, but somehow we left an impression.
