Seeing the news this morning stating wind chills in North Dakota today a pleasant 50 below. Seems this is a common occurance in ole ND--seem to see reports like this every year. Brings me to the questions---anyone here ever been to North Dakota? and if so ..why? What is there in ND besides mind numbing temperatures?

My nephew and his wife just moved to North Dakota. He is in the U.S. Air Force station at the Minot Air Force base. This is not a vacation destination for me at all!!

50 below! No way I'm going there!
Temperatures like that can give you frostbite very quickly and, potentially, amputation of the extremities. That's 21 reasons not to go!

We didn't sell a lot of records, but somehow we left an impression.

Wow...that last post was #1700 for me. Glad I spent it on something important like avoiding amputation of my extremities!

Pluses:

The movie "Fargo".

* 92.3% White (non-Hispanic);
* 5.3% Native American/Alaskan Native;
* 1.6% Hispanic, a category that includes people of many races;
* 0.1% Asian/Pacific Islander;
* 0.1% Black (non-Hispanic);
* 0.1% mixed race.

Minuses:

The weather.

North Dakota has the lowest percentage of non-religious people of any state, and it also has the most churches per capita of any state. [xx(]

Despite the negatives, it seems OK to me. I wouldn't mind living there.

The movie "Fargo".

I take issue with this. One scene - the bar where Jerry meets Steve Buscemi and the VW shilling guy - is in Fargo. The rest of the movie is in Brainerd.
