The "Green" President?
Posted: Mon Dec 22, 2008 8:07 amThe new savior of the free world, Barack Obama, names his cabinet members for environmental, climate and energy issues, then turns right around and charters a fuel gulping, carbon spouting, private 767 jumbo jet for a holiday vacation in Hawaii.
For 2 cabin crew, 17 passengers and about 10 security agents he needed a 767? Not too "green" of him. Over 1 ton of air pollution created, over 17,000 gallons of jet fuel burned and a cost estimate of between $200,000.00 to $400,000.00 for the round trip flight.
US car manufacturers just got crucified and rightfully so, for allowing company executives unnecessary and wasteful use of private jets. But Obama gets a pass from the vast majority of the media when he does it.
Change is coming to Washington all right- a new face but the same old behaviors.
