Another Obama nominee, Tom Daschle for Secretary Of Health And Human Services forgets to pay $140,000 in taxes. This behavoir seems to becoming a prerequisite for cabinet posts.

I have liberal friends who love to tout the virtues of distributing wealth, and "taxing for the common good" - but when questioned about their own personal finances, they say they look for every way out of paying taxes - even to the point of cheating.

It seems fairly clear that an IRS audit targeting the legislative and executive branches of our government, going back, say, 5 to 10 years, perhaps focusing on recent "retirees", will dig up enough revenue to fund a social program or two, while creating a few jobs along the way to help complete the task.

Let's weave [i]that[/i] into the next "stimulus" bill.

Rotator: I've no doubt that looking for clever and possibly disingenuous ways to minimize one's tax bill is one of those few issues that may actually claim bipartisan support.

My problem is that it seems disingenuous and hypocritical to both spout a socialist utopian ideal and hoard at the same time.

I'm consistent in my disdain for socialism and love of hoarding.[;)]

I'm glad to see Daschle flame out. The guy was a DC insider, a lobbyist whore for various big corporations. Not exactly the change we need.
