since a few days i discovered this nice forum, so it's time to say hi [:D]

My real name is dirk and i'm a truckdriver from belgium.
in the early 80's is was a teenager, so i grew up with punk and new wave and all other alternatieve music.

fav punk :
ramones (my all time favaroute band), sex pistols,buzzcocks and all '77 style punk, etc...

new wave fav's : sisters of mercy, cure, siouxsie, neon judgement, red zebra, etc....

Glad ya'll came on board...take a good look around. We have fans, djs, producers and older statesmen of New Wave. You will also find New Wave music you've heard in the past and a lot you've never heard before. Belgium. There are a few bands from Belgium which I really enjoted. The Names, Chainsaw and Polyphonic Size, especially. Did you ever get a chance to see any of these bands live?

We didn't sell a lot of records, but somehow we left an impression.

for chainsaw i was a bit to young, they stopped in 78 ( i'm from '65 ), but they left a few terrible good singles.
the names i never saw, and if my memory is good i think i saw polyphonic somewhere on a small festival, but for some reason i did not spend much attention to it.
It is true that here in belgium was a good new wave scene in the eighties, and still there is good music scene.

Of course, Belgium had Telex and Plastic Bertrand too.

Polyphonic Size must have been great to see. As for Chainsaw, I have the 4 song EP, See Saw. I can't imagine that it is in print so if anyone wants it, I could share.

I think you'll like it here, roefke. There are some people here whose knowledge and collections are truly unbelievable.

you are lucky one,if you have the chainsaw ep, it is a real collector item, people would kill for it [:)]. I have it on compilation (kind of bootleg).
and yeah, we also had plastic bertrand, think belgium will always be remembered for that, what a shame [:I][:D]
