Today, March 12, 2009 is World Kidney Day, an event meant to raise awareness of the ever increasing public health problem of kidney disease.

In the USA kidney disease is the 9th most common cause of death, and its incidence has increased by 30% in the last decade.

The general public is not aware of the seriousness of this disease.
