Did this law ever get passed in New York State? Yesterday, a 28 year old woman with a cell phone planted in her ear stepped off the curb into the rear wheels of a truck on a downtown street here. Last year, I almost tagged an idiot who suddenly darted out into the street...the asshole made a point of telling me it's MY job to watch for HIM. I told him I'd try harder (to nail him) if I ever got another chance.

Do these people really operate on the assumption that it's the other person's job to ensure their safety?

Personal responsibility is a thing of the past. Get used to it.

Don't forget cell (mobile) phones. They seem to emit stun rays that destroy common sense or connection with the real world.

No kidding...just go to any mall and observe the evident inability to walk and talk on a cell phone.

I was sitting at Service Station in semi-regional Italy last year watching a sweaty fat man with a nice car filling his car with petrol while talking on his mobile and smoking a cigarette.

Since that day, I am never astounded by how stupid some people can be.
