Posted: Wed Apr 15, 2009 3:04 amack...I used to work at the Harvard Square Strawberry's....what a nightmare. Nothing reminds me more of the '80's though. We used to get 2 in-store play tapes each month with 3 songs off 6 or 7 albums they were promoting. By the end of the first week you wanted to shoot yourself in the head. I still cannot listen to Sting's first solo album or Heart's big comeback lp...not that I'd want to...
Some other gossip monger on these boards worked at Strawberrys too...
I loved Newbury Comics. There were some great used stores along Mass Ave in Cambridge, and quite a few up on Comm Ave near BU. I haven't lived there in 15 years though....
