Virgin Union Square in NYC is closing this weekend. As of yesterday, everything was at 70% off and they actually still had a bunch of stock. Just FYI for anyone in the area who wants to have one last look. I grabbed the new Morrissey and the best of Stereophonics for $5 each and that UK band called White Lies (who listened to a lot of their older sibling's Joy Division records) for $3.
End of an era (the big record store). Sure, indies are better, but it was still a fun store to browse in with their selection and imports. At least we still have J&R in the city, right around the corner from my place...
