Speaking of late night talk show hosts, has anyone been wondering about Conan's Nintentions lately?

A nontroversy. But--one would think that Palin would want this to just go away, and thus, keep it on the dl. Why would she keep stirring it up with such drama ? Alaskans have watched her drama queen tendencies for a looong time, and are not surprised. They are used to her using her kids as props on the stage to her political ambitions. Letterman's "jokes" were lame and tasteless. But he's been ribbing on celebs like this his whole life. That's what he does. For her to add fuel to the non-fire is odd, given her proclivity to showcase her kids at all opportunities. I say, hands off of the kids. Slag her politics if we must, but leave her kids alone.

The Palin girl is a public figure and has given interviews left and right about her teenage pregnancy out of wedlock. It would be naive to think that she wouldn't thus be the object of public opinion and commentary. This "controversy" is a pretty transparent attempt at garnering public sympathy and keeping the Palin name in the news while trying to damage Letterman's reputation.

It's been my observation that the weaker faction will always take advantage of every perceived sleight and milk it for all of it's perceived worth. I'm still talking about politics.

The weird thing is that it's working. I never would have expected NOW to come out in support of Sarah Palin. To me this is such a non-story and I'm shocked that anyone cares and more shocked that it's actually working in Palin's favor.
