So here in N.Y. it rained for months and thus created the perfect place for mosquitoes. It got real bad at the beach this year but I can't even go outside for 2 seconds without being covered in them. Mosquitoes are becoming this years squirrels! (although I had to chase a few today)
Its crazy!

I snapped this macro picture of a flying mosquito in my house the other night. They're not at all what I expected them to look like up-close.

Here's a small swarm of them from the late 60's, preserved in amber here:

That's the first thing I thought of too. [:0]

being from Louisiana I find this very funny, we put up with those things 9 months out the year, probably like your squirrels. I hate squirrels too those little bastards torn up the cushions on a brand new patio set a couple years ago, using the polyfill for their nest. They are pretty much gone now that we have a dog but I am still reminded of that when I look up in the large Oak in my backyard.

I hate mosquitoes. They ruined my college years and I've lost many needed nights of sleep because of them. Seems like I can't even walk out by the pool at night without getting bit by one LOL. My ex once asked me if they were related to bats. That comment still cracks me up today.

It is totally out of control here. As soon as I go out there are at least 3 on me right away. Spraying the yard with Listerine (the original bitter one) works well but they still get through.
Squirrels! Even with my dog, they rip my yard apart. I hope I get to punch one again.
