Aaahhh, nothing like the smell of cherry blossoms in the warm spring air...wait a minute, its February and the winter games are about to begin any day now! They're trucking in snow to Cypress mountain because there's a base of zero-nada-nil centimeteres! I started working with my son's baseball team on the weekends even though the season is still weeks away!

I'm going to the Canada - Norway hockey game on the 16th with my Norwegian bankers, and I have tickets to Canada's qurterfinal game. I also have bronze medal game tickets, where I hope to cheer on Team USA against Sweden or Russia. I think there may be other sports besides hockey at the Olympics, but who cares, really. If the Dutch take all the speedskating medals, I could really care a less.

The Germans have set up a Bavarian beer garden tent in the parking lot directly below my office window, so I'm getting set for 2 solid weeks of oompah music and the smell of sausage and pretzels.

I LOVE the Winter Olympics. The coverage will be crappy as usual. But I am still looking forward to seeing some of it on t.v.

I love the Olympics, crap coverage and all. Thought I'd miss the opener, but they had in-flight DirecTV on my airplane - cool.

But what the fuck with all those weird faces Getzky was making? Did he have to take a dump or something? Now Steve Nash - the great winter Olympian that he is - he actually looked stoked to be there.

I'm pretty sure Steve has won as many Winter Olympic medals as any other Canadian.

Did the other host cities have moronic protesters as well?

I can understand protesting years earlier, but once it has been decided, what's the point? In this case, the Olympics are on, and the public money is gone.

I believe at the last summer games, they were simply shot. Same demographic as Vancouver too I think.

I have to admit she was awesome...but she took the gold from Jenn Heil of Alberta!!! That was supposed to be our first gold ever on home soil!

So instead, mogulist Alexandre Bilodeau won Canada's first ever gold medal on home turf ... well, he's from Quebec competing for Canada.

Only the second day of competition and Canada is already racking up the "medale chocolat's" for 4th place finishes!

Meanwhile USA scores a silver and a bronze in short track because two Koreans collide in the final turn! Sheesh!
