It never really ended but this story tops them all. Today I did not see any squirrels at all. That is until my dog came in the house. 2 minutes later I see 10 squirrels! They waited till the dog came in, then get this! They chewed through the wire that held up my bird feeder, knocked it to the ground, then called all their friends to feast! I SWEAR to all that is holy...this is an all out war now! It took 2 weeks to get a friggin bird to find that feeder and now this? I will not hold back anymore. Stay tuned for further squirrel stories! and yes...I am quite mad. But I blame the squirrels.

Ahh ok. possum.. good (we don't get squirrel's in Australia.. or woodchucks (whatever the fuck they are we DO get possums.. so if squirrels taste like possum.. then that's good enough for me.

Oh man you must love living in Australia if there are no squirrels. I hate them so much. I love possums, not to eat but I live in Brooklyn NY and its cool seeing wild life. But squirrels are like very smart rats.
I read that you guys have a problem with rabbits? Or is that just in the country...(bush) and not around people?

Howdy there.

Let me firstly say that we do not actually eat possums (one never knows who is going to take that seriously given there are probably people in the world who DO eat them)

Anyway... yes rabbits are an issue in the bush where they are ferral. Rabbits were introduced to Australia, not native. Get a few in suburb area close to national parks etc sometimes, but mostly in the bush. Pigs are a proglem in the bush as well in some areas.

Animals that you DO encounter often down here are Koala's, Possums, Fruit Bats, Snakes and Spiders (and sometimes sharks if you are a surfer). Not to mention Cockatoos and Seagulls and Pigeons: Bastards

mmmmm Koala's.....

The spiders scare me. I saw a special on tv about them. They said how during mating season they travel and they like the floors in the bathroom because they are cool. Yikes I would freak seeing a huge spider walking around. But it looks like you have such a beautiful country! I would love to go one day. We have these stupid squirrels here that get into everything. The possums are cool and don't bother anyone. I haven't seen one in a long while. We get raccoons but they are dangerous. Oh and we have pigeons too. I hate those flying rats!

Racoons are dangerous? well there ya go.. didn't know that.

We often get (almost) hand-sized Huntsmen spiders.. usualy at the change of seasons as they seek the cool or the warmth. Red backs are always hiding under something ready to bite you and white-tails will sometimes get in your clothes if you leave them on the floor.

luckily where I live we don't get the funnel-webs they have issues with in the eastern states.

Spiders, Snakes and Sharks can all GGF IMO .. nasty buggers..

I am sure all of Australia would be happy to have you.. visit anytime.. the door is always open

LOL cool! Oh yes funnel webs! They even fall into pools and stay alive. I saw one guy got lost in the brush and slept under a bunch of dead trees. In the morning with the sun...he saw he was sleeping with like a hundred spiders!
