I'm surprised they were still being manufactured up until now.

I havn't been able to get business pc's that even include a fdd for a number of years now. I too assumed they were not even manufactured any more. Can't say I am sad at all. Annoying unreliable bastards they were.

I remember self double-siding old fd's for my Amiga with a hole punch many moons ago hehe. Those were the days.

Our local London Drugs store has a whole aisle dedicated to various types of media storage and you can still (well, at least up to now) buy floppy disks...right alongside the 8mm video cassettes and VHS tapes.

I have an external floppy drive that connects with a usb cable! Why, I don't know.

I still have a floppy drive connected [:D]. When I bought a new mainboard, just after Xmas, I wanted one with a floppy connector, as well as parallel port!

The floppy drive I have is one of those combo units, which also includes a media card reader, so since I already have the drive ...

And my 10+ year old inkjet still works fine, and since I hardly use it, no point spending extra cash buying a USB one.
