What Was Your First Concert?

Let's Discuss. What was your first concert? When and where was it? Was it an experience that helped you to appreciate music? Or was it something you look back and feel embarrassed about? For me it was The Bee Gees. I was 10 yrs. old and going to a Bee Gees concert was my obsession at the time. It was held at the San Diego Sports Arena.

Depeche Mode "Some Great Reward" Tour in Irvine Meadows, Irvine, CA. Opening up for them was Animotion and Book Of Love. I remember everyone looking so New Wave at that concert. Actually, it was fun to ditch class just get in that amazing New Wave line to buy the tickets. I remember walking by all of these people with boomboxes playing everything from B-Movie to Visage. Those were the days.

My parents took me to see Kenny Rogers at the Nassau Coliseum when I was a kid, probably sometime around 1980. A few years later, my older brother took me along to see Duran Duran at Madison Square Garden, for their 7 and the Ragged Tiger tour.

My first concert was the Village People. I won the tickets from a radio station, and I was so excited.

I'm over it now. Thanks for your concern.

Very theatrical, makeup, skits, humor.....and hey, they got the great Neon Park to illustrate their cover and he did it for some heroin (it's what I heard anyway).

David Bowie - Serious Moonlight tour - August 1983 - (newly opened) Tacoma Dome. Yellow suit, big pompadour. It was completely awesome, and set my expectations high for live shows to come. Almost every show I went to afterwards was not nearly as huge. price: $12 !

My son is going to his first Rush concert this summer. It's like a right of passage in Canada.

My first, it was a great one. Heatwave 1980. Just outside of Toronto.

I won't bore you with the details.
